Leadership development firm and innovation company announce partnership

ADVISA, a leadership development and talent optimization firm, announced Wednesday their partnership with Powderkeg, a web-based connections engine for technology entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals. Together, ADVISA and Powderkeg will help organizations improve job fit, inspire performance, and create magnetic work cultures through leadership development.

Pitch Night

The two organizations will kick off their partnership at the Powderkeg Pitch Night: HR Tech on May 1, 2019 at The Sanctuary on Penn, where three Indianapolis HR Tech companies will pitch the newest technology in talent and human resources.

Tech between the coasts

“ADVISA is thrilled to partner with Powderkeg to help tech companies in Indianapolis and the Midwest develop leaders who can effectively build trust and shared purpose with their employees, investors and customers,” said ADVISA President Heather Haas, “At ADVISA, we believe leaders are the window through which employees see the organization. These leaders need proven tools and training to hire top talent, design winning teams and inspire performance. Talent optimization is too important to be left to chance.”

Hiring the right tech talent can be one of the biggest challenges to growing a tech company between the coasts – and that’s true in Indianapolis. Respondents in the Indianapolis Tech Census, powered by Powderkeg, identified a “talent gap” in the region, especially regarding talent development.

“There’s an enormous shift happening in the tech industry for both employers and professionals. Fast-growing tech companies are emerging and offering great jobs, but it’s still really hard for them to find and keep the right talent. That limits their growth,” said Matt Hunckler, CEO of Powderkeg. “The U.S. Tech Census showed us that the number one reason people join a tech company is the same reason people leave a tech company, and that is because of the company’s culture. Our members need a partner who’s a superhero at leadership development. ADVISA will help empower their leaders to build magnetic company cultures, so they can hire and retain the right talent.”

Developing tech leaders

As part of the partnership, ADVISA will create exclusive content for Powderkeg members surrounding leadership development, culture, organizational design, and engagement.

Achieving business results is increasingly challenging as significant forces in the external environment undergo unprecedented change. According to Gallup, 43% of the workforce reported working remotely in 2017, and 85% of Millennials said they prefer to telecommute, which raises the bar for creating high engagement work cultures. Technology is in a constant state of flux, demographics are fundamentally shifting with 10,000 Boomers retiring every day, and talent pools are shrinking. The partnership between ADVISA and Powderkeg is an opportunity to help tech leaders look specifically at these challenges and build resilient organizations with leaders who are prepared to lead effectively in the work environment as changes become more complex.
