Spring typically signals the beginning of conference exhibit and speaking season for ADVISA, and this year is no exception. ADVISA President Heather Haas and Dr. Fredricka Joyner, Senior Leadership and Organization Development Consultant, recently co-presented, “The Emotionally Intelligent Leader: Driving Change and Engaging Millenials” at the AMBA Leadership Summit at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, CA.
Heather was also a featured speaker at Appirio’s Lean In Circle meeting last month. Her talk, titled “Can We Stop Calling Them Soft Skills Already?” asserts that what we’ve long considered nice-to-have “soft skills” are in fact essential leadership skills for building high engagement work cultures.
Dr. Fredricka Joyner has two upcoming talks. The first, “Using Workforce Analytics to Navigate Change,” is for the ATD (Association for Talent Development) 2017 International Conference and Exposition in Atlanta, GA. She’ll unpack the statistic that 70% of major organizational changes fail to fully deliver on desired results. Her presentation illustrates how workforce analytics – particularly the Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment™ and the EQ-i® — can be used to increase the likelihood of successful change initiatives.
The second is a keynote address titled “The 21st Century Workplace: Navigating in the Midst of a Perfect Storm” for the Merit Member Conference: Networking, Securing and Staffing the 21st Century Workplace. She will focus on the idea that we are living and working in unprecedented times as elements in the external environment come together to create a perfect storm. This talk will unpack and consider the impact of these elements and suggests a set of navigational strategies.
Erin Wood, Leadership and Organization Development Consultant, delivered a session at the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) annual HR & OD Conference in Las Vegas earlier this month. Her talk, titled “Turning Up the Volume on Engagement: The impact of an engaged workforce and how you can get one,” presented the business case for implementing an engagement program and helped bring engagement to life by discussing ways organizations can develop a more engaging work culture.
