How It Works

At first glance, the Predictive Index® appears to be a simple adjective checklist. For all its apparent simplicity, however, the Predictive Index® is a sophisticated instrument that's been scientifically validated to be a reliable predictor of work-related behavior. As anyone who has completed it will tell you, the results are uncannily accurate.

The Predictive Index® measures internal drives that determine how we behave. The four drives it measures are:

The drive for dominance
The drive for extroversion
The drive for patience
The drive for formality

These drives are neither good nor bad. And once we're adults, they tend not to change much. Because these drives rarely, if ever, change, we can understand and measure them. The varying degrees of these drives within us help determine how we behave and work and indicate our strengths and weaknesses. Typically, one or two drives serve as the primary motivating force for behavior. A person's behavior will most likely be influenced by the strongest drive in their personality. How these drives interact with each other within an individual allows us to predict behavior.
